Finding Root Causes

A world-class hospital was troubled by the loss of critical nursing personnel despite competitive salaries and benefits. LIS deployed a health-care based assessment that was administered within a 10-day period.

As a result of the assessment, hospital management was able to quickly and accurately determine major root causes of their employee turnover problem. While professional staff loved their work and the institution, they fundamentally questioned the commitment of the hospital to their needs and the establishment of a positive working climate. The granularity of the assessment was sufficient to indicate specific areas of opportunity and follow-up actions that might alleviate the turnover problem. Through Web-based sharing of feedback, targeted communications of findings, and additional actions, the situation began to improve in a matter of weeks.
